Fast Load Speed


Page load speed matters. Why? Simply because your customers don't have all the time in the world to wait for all the elements on your product page to load. If they need to buy something, they want to see it quick, and they want to see it NOW. 

So let me ask you this: How long does it take for your page (or your website) to load? Five seconds? Eight? Ten? 

If it's somewhere between 5 and 10 seconds or even more than that, then you have a big problem and I'm pretty sure your bounce rate is not looking good either. 

So what is the ideal page load speed? Ideally, you’ll want your website to load within three seconds, or two seconds if it’s an Ecommerce site.

If you're not sure how fast or slow your page speed is, I recommend testing it in PageSpeed Insight or Pingdom. Both of these are useful for seeing how fast your product page loads on browsers and how efficient the code is. These tools also provide suggestions to make your page load faster and give more information about the performance of your application.

There are so many ways to optimize your page to improve the page load time. Here are my tips:

1. Use a landing page builder like Shogun. I will discuss this software in full detail in the next video, where I walk you through the step by step process of building a long-form product page using Shogun. 

2. Set up Google Analytics.

3. Add Schema Markup to your product page. It's basically extra info that’s on your website that search engines can read when they crawl your site. I recommend using Schema Plus for SEO if you're running a Shopify Ecom store.
