What are feed uploads?
Feed uploads in Google Merchant Center (GMC) refer to the process of submitting a product feed file to the Merchant Center platform.
Upload options
You have several options when uploading a data feed to Google Merchant Center. These include uploading a file from your local drive, uploading a feed using a URL (HTTP), accessing Google Sheets, or using a feed management solution.
File size limit
If you're submitting a compressed file, it must be under 4 GB. If your file is larger than 4 GB, you must split it into multiple smaller files before uploading.
Steps to upload a product feed to GMC
The process of uploading a feed involves the following steps[1]:
- In your GMC account, go to the “Products” section.
- Click ” Feeds ” to locate the feed you want to submit.
- Depending on the input method you initially picked, you'll see options such as “Upload file,” “Access Google Sheets,” or others.
- Select the appropriate option and choose the feed file you want to upload.
Automatic updates
After uploading a feed, you can create a schedule to update your feed automatically. It ensures that your product data stays up to date in Merchant Center.
